Istatistiksel Yöntemler ile DDoS Saldırı Tespiti DDoS Detection Using Statistical Methods

The Distributed Denial of Service attack is an attempt to make an online service unavailable by consuming resources of the target system such as bandwidth, memory, or processor. Large businesses, such as Internet service providers lack a network-based, simple but effective detection method for lowdensity (DDoS) attacks, which is still an essential problem for computer networks. DDoS attacks cause a variety of changes in the statistical distribution of attributes in the network traffic. Using the advantage of statistical changes in traffic features, this study proposes two simple but effective network-based DDoS attack detection method based on statistical signal processing approach. The experimental results show that the proposed approach achieve %98 true positive rate and %0.34 false positive rate.
