Security System with High Autonomy of Operation

The present work aims to achieve a home security system with low energy consumption and high autonomy of operation. The system can transmit information about his status on long distanced in real time through a GSM network. The system has been designed in such a way that it does not interrupt its operation for at least five days if the main wall electricity source to which it is connected suffers a breakdown. The proposed solution implies to power up the system from an external rechargeable energy source (external battery), so the system will have an energy reserve that will extend its operation time. In order to offer as much autonomy as possible, we opted for the use of a secondary source for charging the external battery. In this direction we considered the solar energy as the most suitable for this application. More precisely, the use of a small photovoltaic panel that will supplement the external battery with electricity during the day and will thus increase the autonomy of the system.
