Industrial Practices for Power Factor Improvement and Harmonic Control

This paper focuses on industrial approach on how to improve power factor and mitigate harmonics using capactiors and detuned reactors tuned at 7% respectively. The Switching of capacitors corresponding the power system loads, counting framework varieties to be represented when capacitor exchanging is utilized. To justify reasons for the use of capacitors in order to meet economical limits. Calculations involving the ratings of capacitors required for the industrial need. And controlling Harmonics through 7% Detuned reactors and hence improving the performance of the system. Justification of this practices for minimizations of power loss and reduction in cost of power transmission.
