Design and Implementation of a Solar Inverter without Batteries for IoT Node's and Household Application

In today's world, there are number of applications that utilize natural, eco-friendly, and free sources of energy. But a significant drawback observed in natural resources is that the intensity produced is uncertain. This downside is figured out in solar energy as well, where the strength of the light is not always the same. Light intensity varies with various factors such as dust on solar panels, gloomy weather. This irregularity in light intensity leads to a deviation of output voltage produced by the panel. In this paper, we will discuss designing and selection of components for our proposed inverter assuming a buck-boost converter producing constant 12V as output even though variations in the output voltage level by adjusting the P,I,D variables in the controller of the buck-boost converter. One end of this converter is fed to DC loads such as IoT node's using certain voltage regulators, if required and other end is fed to our proposed inverter. This modified sine wave-based inverter will convert this constant DC into AC, i.e., 220V, 50 Hz, which are essential requirements for household applications to function correctly. To remove harmonic, OTT filter is designed which will convert the Modified Sine Wave into Pure Sine Wave and also remove additional harmonics. Here this simulation is done in Proteus ISIS environment, and an explanation is given accordingly. It is believed that the overall designed Pure Sine Wave based inverter will enhance economic prosperity. Further specific parameters are displayed on the Liquid Crystal Display for the ease of interaction between the user and the system.
