Tunable Conductivity and Dielectric Constant of Graphene in Microwave, Millimeter wave and Terahertz Band

Graphene is emerging as novel-innovative two-dimensional planar material due to tunable surface conductance by applying different chemical potential doping or gate voltage. The surface conductance and dielectric constant can be described by the Kubo's formula or also explained by the Drude-model. Here, the changes of surface complex conductance that make up of intra-band and inter-band attributes and total complex permittivity are discussed based on different chemical potentials at microwave, millimeter wave and Terahertz band from 10⁷ Hz to 10¹⁹ Hz. The calculation results show that the chemical potential can easily control electrical and phonon properties of Graphene when the frequency is less than and closes to 7.3×10¹⁵ Hz. Above this frequency, the chemical potential has rare effect on the change both in conductivity and dielectric.
