Towards a Variable Audio Spot Using Flexible Parametric Array Loudspeakers

In this research, we examined whether it is possible to present sound in areas (audio spots) with various shapes and sizes using Flexible Parametric Array Loudspeakers (FPALs). In addition to multiple Parametric Array loudspeakers, an audio spot was created using FPALs that can change the beam shape of a conventional Parametric Array Speaker (PAL) by changing its curvature. Changes in the directivity pattern of the audio spots created with FPALs were evaluated by measuring sound pressure in the area in front. As a result, it was confirmed that the shape of the audio spot can be controlled as intended.
