Operation Method for Display Device Using QZSS and Acceleration Sensors

In this paper, we describe a new operation method for display terminals using the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) and acceleration sensors. QZSS is the Japanese satellite positioning system “MICHIBIKI”. The authors propose a method of operating a display device by mounting an accelerometer on the user’s fingertip carrying a receiver and acquiring the user’s position and finger posture from the sensor data. In the experiment, the distance between the display terminal and the user was measured, and the operation sensitivity could be adjusted by the distance. The experimental results show that the proposed method is effective.
