Enhancement of Raman signal by the use of BaTiO3 microspheres

It is shown that the Raman signal can be enhanced using BaTiO₃ microspheres beyond that obtained by the highest numerical aperture objective available on a standard Raman microscope. This research is aimed at understanding the basis of the light interaction at the nanoscale level, with implications for photodynamic processes on bio-objects.
