Generation of Tunable Mid- and Far-Infrared Pulses During Gas Ionization by Two-Color Chirped Laser Pulses

We propose a new method of efficient generation of mid- and far-infrared pulses based on gas ionization by chirped and delayed two-color laser pulses. The method opens the possibility of a simple tuning the generated frequency by changing the time delay between the laser-pulse components.
