Modeling and Simulation Method of Ship Availability for Service Period

Availability is an important index of ship. Because of the complexity of related factors, it is difficult to model and calculate, which restricts the in-depth quantitative analysis in demonstration and design. At the same time, how to transform availability into design index has become a difficult problem to be solved in project design. This paper analyzes the technical status and use characteristics of the equipment during service period of the ship, puts forward the availability model, and uses the discrete event simulation method to solve the problem, establishes the logical relationship and calculation method between the availability index of the ship and the reliability, maintainability and supportability index of the system and equipment. It provides a feasible calculation method for the conversion of the availability index into the equipment design index or the estimation and analysis of the availability index from the equipment level.
