Controller Chip Design of Serial-Parallel-Switched-Capacitor Coupled-Inductor Boost DC-AC Inverter

This work is focused on the controller chip design/ implementation of serial-parallel-switched-capacitor coupledinductor (SPSCCI) inverter applied to high-gain boost DC-AC conversion. The controlled plant is its power part made up of SPSCCI booster and DC-link inverter to perform a practical DC-AC conversion from 12V to 110VRMS, 60Hz. Here, for achieving this goal, the controller is its control part constructed by sinusoidal pulse-width-modulation (SPWM) compensator plus phase generator, and then is implemented under Cadence full-custom design through pre-layout simulation (PRE-SIM) and post-layout simulation (POST-SIM) on a fabricated chip of integrated circuit: no. D35-105B-E0008, TSMC 0.35μm 2P4M, 1500×1500μm², 5.0V, 2.68mW, max frequency 200kHz. Finally, with the help of this controller chip, a closed-loop prototype circuit of this SPSCCI can be realized and verified experimentally for some test cases of DC-AC to validate the feasibility of this inverter.
