Possibilies for Improvement the Ecological Effect of Battery Electric Vehicles Using Renewable Energy

In the paper, an evaluation of the ecological effect of the electric vehicles, using energy, produced from different types of power stations is done. On the base of the Emission factor (CO
₂
g/kWh) of electric energy production from renewable energy sources and fossil fuels, using existing life cycle standards of the vehicles is done. The conventional gasoline vehicles are used as a base for comparison. Using the emission factors for EC-28 countries, the mathematical models concerning vehicle life cycle are developed. The results show the possibilities to reduce the electric vehicles emissions, during the life cycle, with 20 to 140% using the renewable energy sources.
