An Educational Low Cost Framework to Assist Learning Process of Fresnel Zones and Basic Radio Link Projects for Electrical Engineering Students

In teaching and learning high education, technological tools are allowing a set of activities that can be carried out by students inside or out of classes. Information and Communication Technology allows students, teachers, and pedagogical teams to make improvements in the teaching and learning process. At Engineering courses, the use of the software is even more evident due to its use for solving complex problems and quick solutions. The use of them is even greater from the use of simulators. However, depending on the type of discipline, i.e. telecommunication, some simulators are shown to be of low efficiency or high price to be used in classes. In this paper, we introduce the Azimuth Calculator, a self-developed software carefully designed considering usability requirements, efficient operation, and low price. Its aim is to assist learning and improve the understanding of basic concepts of Fresnel-zones projects. Compare with other softwares the Azimuth Calculator presents low computational cost, and easily operation.
