Improvement in the Participation of PGU-450 in the Regulation of Energy System Frequency and Power

The problems of participation of PGU-450 in regulating the frequency and power of the power system are considered. It is shown that, despite the high maneuverability characteristics of gas turbines, gas turbines do not always provide the load change rates required by the energy system if the manufacturer's restrictions on the set load/unload speed are met. Based on model tests performed on a full-scale PGU-450 simulator, it is shown that the use of accumulated heat in the high-pressure drums of heat recovery boilers by acting on the control valve of a steam turbine allows a quick but short-term response to frequency deviation. For different outdoor temperatures and base loads, the initial position of the steam turbine control valve is determined. The real possibility of active participation of PGU-450 in regulating the frequency and power of the energy system using the proposed technology of active participation of a steam turbine without violating the manufacturer's restrictions on gas and steam turbines is shown, practical recommendations are given and a possible improvement of the existing CCGT power control system is proposed.
