Development of Thermal Schemes for Dry Coke Quenching Using Carbonates in Order to Save Energy

Energy-efficient schemes of dry coke quenching with afterburning of limestone and sideritoplesite ore by combustion products in the zone of additional heat treatment IV have been developed. The use of carbonates - siderite ore and limestone-is suggested as processed technological materials. In the developed schemes, several thermal technological zones are identified: I - the zone of preliminary technological operation, where the process material is preheated before it enters the main technological zone II. Zone III - low-temperature area where sideritoplesite ore is heat treated using the heat of a mixture of coke and lime, and zone IV - additional technological operation where roasting is performed by combustion products of technological materials. A thermodynamic analysis was carried out, which determined the proportion of heat of hot coke consumed for heating and decomposition of CaCO₃ with the implementation of the bell-Boudoir reaction processes at 850C. As a result of thermodynamic analysis, a temperature-thermal graph of coke cooling is constructed. A comparative table of mass consumption of coke, sideritoplesite ore and limestone in each technological zone is presented.
