Six Phase Linear Drive based on new Transverse Flux Linear Machines

A linear direct drive based on a coupling of two new and innovative linear machines is presented in this paper. The key feature is the transverse flux guidance. The drive is characterized by its high-power density. The new linear drive with a high degree of integration enables efficient transport systems. Main features are curves and magnetic switches without mechanical adjustment of the rail. Together with the sensorless control, the design has a great potential for the automation and digitization of the industry of the future.
