Electromagnetically Coupled High Gain Dual Band Microstrip Planar Antenna for mm-wave Applications

The proposed antenna has unique features with two electromagnetically coupled patches with one patch directly connected to the field line and works in lower frequency range of 35 GHz and the other patch is not connected directly to the feed line but is coupled electromagnetically with the lower patch and works on the upper frequency range of 70 GHz. The frequency prevalence of the millimeter wave antenna designs will revolutionize the existing antenna designs due to its extremely small size, high efficiency and an excellent gain in high frequencies. In this paper the main motive is to design a antenna for millimeter wave frequency band 35-70GHz using CST-MWS. The performance of the proposed antenna design has been measured on various parameters such as Gain, VSWR, S-parameter, Efficiency, Radiation pattern, Directivity, low return loss, ambient surface current across the patch surface at various stimulated frequencies.
