Analysis of a Single-Phase PV Inverter with Generation Control and Power Decoupling Features

To realize photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems with a high efficiency and long lifetime, various authors have conducted studies focusing on either a generation control circuit (GCC) or an active power decoupling (APD) method. A GCC can maximize the power generated from shaded PV strings, and the APD method can reduce the power pulsation caused by a single-phase PV inverter at twice the utility frequency. Therefore, it is necessary to study a PV system in which both GCC and APD are integrated. In this paper, two circuit configurations of the PV system equipped with both the features were analyzed using the state-space averaged method, and the difference between the characteristics of the two circuit configurations are clarified.
