A 10 Watts Linear Power Amplifier Using Symmetric Stub Gando Matching Networks

This paper presents the design and fabrication of a 10 Watts linear power amplifier named “Gando” for the popular cellular frequency spectrum of 2.1 GHz to 2.2 GHz. The high-power amplifier utilizes symmetric stubs layout in input matching network to provide better frequency performance. Working in AB operational class enables this system to maintain the trade-off between linearity and efficiency, while the proper output matching design of this system ensured acceptable harmonic control of the output of the high-power amplifier. Power Added Efficiency of the device is reported about 40 percent while the measured IIP3 of the system is 42.5 dBm.
