Distributed global dynamic wiring for bio-inspired self-repairing hardware

Bio-inspired self-repairing hardware, which is inspired by the self-healing mechanism of the organism, provides a new solution for improving the task reliability of the electronic system. The research of self-repairing hardware has made significant achievements in the past two decades. However, due to the high expenses of hardware resources and the complexity of placement and wiring, this technology still has a big gap from engineering applications. Especially, there are still some disadvantages in the wiring system, for example, the physically connecting path established by dynamic wiring technology is real-time and stable in data transfer, but it is hard to implement dynamic long-distance wiring; though routing technology has overcome the limitation of distance, its physical connecting path delays greatly with poor stability. In order to solve this problem, this paper conducts studies on the wiring approach of bio-inspired self-repairing hardware. It puts forward a distributed global dynamic wiring system, which has changed the traditional wiring method and could achieve dynamic long-distance wiring while ensuring the stability of data transmission. Finally, the performance of this system is verified by simulation.
