An X–band FMCW Radar Demonstrator Based on an SDR Platform

The paper presents an implementation of analog front-end designed for use in an X-band Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar system. Fine range resolution is achieved due to the use of more than 1 GHz of bandwidth, which is achieved through application of frequency multipliers. The system has been tested in the laboratory as well as in a real environment using a USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) device for both, waveform generation and beat signal digitization.
