Numerical Simulation of Electromagnetic Impulse Deformation during Propagation in Nonlinear Dielectric

Numerical simulation of the electromagnetic waves propagation through media with non-linear parameters is described. The problem is formulated in terms of the magnetic vector potential with regard of magnetic and electric losses. Results of modelling of the electromagnetic wave propagation in ferroelectric media with nonlinear dependency of dielectric permittivity on the level of the electric field strength are presented. At such propagation, front sharpening of the electromagnetic wave impulse occurs. Influence of the degree of dielectric permittivity non-linearity on the considered processes has been investigated with the help of numerical simulations.
