Measuring the Multimode Fiber Transmission Matrix from only the Proximal Side

Multimode fibers may serve as narrow-gauge imaging probes that extend the reach of optical imaging, using computational reconstruction and knowledge of the fiber's single-pass transmission matrix. We propose a method to recover this transmission matrix from round-trip measurements performed on the proximal side only.
