Overview and Analysis the Performance of Security in Mobile IPv6

Mobility is one of the major features of IPv6 which has been offered by mobile IPv6. Mobile IPv6 is known as MIPv6. This protocol enables a mobile node to keep a connection to the corresponding node, even when it is moving from a network to another network. For this purpose, the existence of a Binding Update message is essential, so it is important to protect the BU message. MIPv6 greatly has increased the improvement of network performance. However, it introduces various security vulnerabilities and allows attackers to do various attacks. The most concern during route optimization is the authentication and authorization of BU. In the future, it is expected that every IPv6 node ought to support MIPv6 so the mechanism will be significant on the next generation. In this paper, we analyze the existing protocols to protect correspondent registrations through a comparative study based on their performances, advantages, disadvantages, number of messages in each registration, and at the end the operational load at an entity.
