Bench tests of the quarry excavators main electric drives

Article presents the results of development and practical implementation of methods and technical means for testing of a quarry excavators main electric drives. AC drives are implemented using with field orientated control. The purpose of the tests is to determine the main static, dynamic and energy characteristics of drives, research and comparative analysis of control algorithms. Tests are carried out by the method of mutual loading using two identical AC motors and energy converters from the mechatronic complex of the excavator. Bench tests include identification of parameters of asynchronous motors, determination of static, dynamic and energy characteristics of drives in test modes and when simulating the excavation cycle. The results of bench tests of the main drives of the EKG-35 excavator are presented.
