DC-DC X-Converter Comparison with Buck Boost Converter with Proposed Controller

DC-DC power converter are widely used for most applications. These applications are Hybrid Electric car, HVDC link, PV system application. These applications require fixed DC output voltage. The aim of this paper is to compare the performance of DC-DC X-converter with conventional Buck boost converter. In addition, the efficiency of DC-DC X-Converter and buck boost converter are compared. Furthermore, proposed controller using SISOTOOL MATLAB for both DC-DC converter are designed. The effect of large and small disturbance on both converters are considered in this paper. The study results that fourth order DC-DC X-converter have best performance and high efficiency in compared with DC-DC buck boost converter. In addition, DC-DC X- converter is more reliable and stable when system effecting to large and small disturbance from input voltage and changing load.
