Dual-band high-efficiency transmission polarization converter based on stripe grating

A structure acting as a high-performance dual-band transmissive linear polarizer which can change the direction of linearly polarized waves is proposed. This unit cell consists of a multilayer structure with three metal grating plates and two dielectric plates. The top and bottom layers are exactly the same, and the structure is rotated relative to each other by 90°. The middle layer is a metal grating structure placed at an angle of 45° to the x-axis. The polarizer can convert incident linearly polarized waves into cross linearly polarized waves. We found that a very high linear polarization conversion rate (97%) was achieved in the 7-14.2 GHz band, and a good linear polarization conversion rate (93%) was also achieved in the 27.8-35.6 GHz band. At the same time, we verified the correctness of the simulation results through the transmission matrix method.
