MedTime - Medication Adherence Improvement

According to the WHO report on medication adherence in 2003, approximately 50% of patients with chronic illness do not take medications as prescribed. This kind of poor medication can have a serious outcome, either patients or the cost in the medication process. The research question behind the theme is that how to improve medication adherence. In this paper, we propose to use a customized mobile application to embed different reminding mechanisms to mitigate the issue. MedTime, an Android Mobile Application, is designed to help the patients take medicines as prescribed. The current result shows that the designed system not only can provide an easy-to-use user interface for medicine taking behavior, but it also has a potential to help medical doctors to analyze the patients' medication history.
