Development of the wave shell finite element for calculating dynamic characteristics of gas turbine engine parts

The article represents development of the wave shell finite element for calculating dynamic characteristics of gas turbine engine parts. Differential equation system is obtained for conical shell element. Considering the properties of the eigenmotion spectrum of rotationally symmetric systems, forces and displacements are presented in complex form of traveling waves in circumferential direction. The Galerkin method is used to create a finite element as particular form of residuals. As a result, the matrix stiffness equation is obtained. It calculates dynamic characteristics of finite element.
