Supply Chain Management Application for Recording Chili Production and Distribution

Chili is one of the commodities that often have extreme price fluctuations every year. Chili price fluctuations occur because of an imbalance between the amount of demand and supply of chili in an area, thus affecting the length of the distribution chain or decreasing chili farmers' interest. Besides, the Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics stated that the chili distribution chain was inefficient in West Java. This research aims to develop a front-end application for the production and distribution of chili-based on Supply Chain Management (SCM). Through this application, every supply chain actor can record chili distribution activities with their partners. Also, chili producers can record their production activities within the chili supply chain application. The development of the application used the Extreme Programming (XP) method. This method consists of planning, design, coding, test, release. Application development was accomplished in two iterations. Firstly, the development of application features that support chili distribution activities. Secondly, the development of application features that support chili production activities. A further study aiming to deploy the developed SCM-based system to overcome perception differences entirely occurs among producers and supply chain actors. Also, additional SCM functionalities would enrich the developed SCM.
