Performance Assessment of MOFA Based Decentralized PI Controller of Fluidized Bed Coal Gasifier

This paper propose Logically Weighted Firefly Algorithm (LWFA) to optimize the performance of coal gasifier at different operating conditions. The effectiveness of Multiobjective optimization with weighted sum of objectives has been modified by replacing Logically Weighted objective function. The parameters of the decentralized PI Controller of coal gasifier is obtained by LWFA method, resulting improved convergence and reduced simulation time. The designed controller meets the performance constraints during the pressure disturbance at all load conditions. Coal quality flexibility index for the proposed control scheme provide best results compared to existing control schemes addressed in literature. The investigations on load change test offers a smooth tracking of outputs with negligible peak overshoots and undershoots.
