Novel Implementation of a Configurable Gateway Between CAN and Ethernet Protocol For In-Vehicle Networks

This paper presents the implementation of configurable gateway between CAN and Ethernet protocol for in-vehicle networks. The implemented gateway software has two independent parts: the gateway basic modules (message transmission, routing, and reception) and the configuration files (module information and rules to give references to all configured files). Configuration and generation files for required module are prepared by configuration-based software tool. Source file required for implementation of the configurable gateway architecture is written in CAPL. This implementation provides high reliability, good versatility along with large B.W. It also offers high speed besides being cost effective.
