Electrification of an Innovative Directional Drilling Machine. Sizing and Design Models

Vehicle Electrification is a transversal phenomenon which is also transforming the sector of tracked vehicle for construction. As a part of the STIGE project authors are developing an innovative tracked directional machine which is completely electrified. This is a clear innovation respect to conventional solutions that are currently actuated by hydraulic transmission systems. In this work authors focused their attention on the models that are needed to properly size the most demanding sub-system of the machine the drilling unit.
