Comparison of the Occupational Health and Safety Maturity Measurement Instrument in Public and Private Organizations

The purpose of this article is to compare the results of the maturity measurement results of the OSH management in a total of 50 public organizations and 30 private organizations in the city of Bogota D.C. The comparison process was carried out through the results obtained from the instrument application to measure the OSH maturity degree. The compared scenarios correspond to the initial scenario, whose factor loads respond to an exploratory factor analysis and two scenarios subsequent to the instrument application whose factor loads respond to a confirmatory factor analysis. The relationships between the groups' results of the instrument evaluated variables for both types of entities were successfully compared by means of the non-parametric MANOVA analysis through the R project software. The results show that there are significant differences between the two groups of data in most of the variables analyzed considering the type of organization and that is, therefore, the null hypothesis raised is rejected. Furthermore, it is concluded that the instrument internal consistency for both entities is greater than 0.9, indicating its high reliability to measure the occupational health and safety management maturity in both public and private organizations.
