A note on the harmonic distortion in AC-bias recording

A novel analytical expression for approximating the error function erf(x) is presented. Using this expression, analytical closed-form expressions are obtained for the overall record and playback nonlinear distortion resulting from large recording-signal levels. The results are shown to agree qualitatively with previously published results.<>
