Solving Dynamic Economic Dispatch Problem with Plug-in Electric Vehicles using GWOLF

Dynamic economic dispatch is defined as delegation of amount of electricity generated by different generating units for given time duration to meet the load demand and minimizing the cost while taking ramp rate in to consideration subject to constraints imposed on the system. The problem is solved for 24 hours demand along with the behavior of three different profiles of plug-in electric vehicles. This paper aims to introduce a novel variant of GWO to be employed to solve the dynamic economic dispatch problem. It is concluded that proposed algorithm is well suited for nonlinear and non-convex problems. Lastly, the numerical result by the given algorithm shows that the problem of the dynamic economic dispatch is not only well solved by the proposed algorithm but also gives competitive results as compared to state of art algorithms available in the literature.
