Design and Control of Isolated Boost Converter in Photovoltaic Supply System Integrated With Grid

A photovoltaic supply system (PVSS) integrated with the single phase grid employing isolated boot converter (IBC) is presented. The IBC steps up the low photovoltaic (PV) panel voltage, ensures maximum power extraction (MPE) from PV panel and provides electric isolation between PVSS and grid. The IBC is designed using two primary inductors and two switches with common grounding. The common grounding of switches provides less complexity to design gate drivers and eliminates the leakage current flow from PV panel body to ground. The switching of this IBC is achieved using fuzzy logic control (FLC) approach. The DC terminals of a single phase two-leg self commutated switch based voltage source converter (VSC) is interfaced with the output DC link of IBC. A band pass filter based on second order generalized integrator (SOGI) is used to synchronize the VSC with the single phase grid supply. The proposed PVSS is modeled and simulated using MATLAB @2018 platform. Results are obtained on simulation model under various field emulated conditions.
