Performance Evaluation of a High Gain DC-DC Converter for DC Microgrid Applications

This paper presents the performance evaluation of a non-isolated high gain DC-DC converter for DC microgrid applications. This converter utilizes two extendable inductor-capacitor-inductor (LCL) networks along with one switched capacitor (SC) network for gain extension. Theoretical gain equation, theoretical values of stress across the semiconductor devices, design procedure of passive elements and efficiency analysis are also included in this paper. The practical voltage gain, voltage burden on the semiconductor devices and experimental efficiency is obtained from a 380V/200W prototype of this converter and presented here.
