Hybrid-Flipped class room Approach for Fashion Design Students: Mitigating impacts to Learning Activities due to Emergence of COVID-19

As the world is facing Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic situation. The top priority for the universities is to maintain best of health, safety, and well-being of the community, on and off campus. Thus, there is a requirement of shift from conventional teaching and learning modes to flipped classes. This study involves the Hybrid-Flipped Classroom teaching method which involves a blend of theory, practical, activity and tutorial sessions. Video lectures are shared and watched by the students before the class, which saves time of the class for active learning such as; demonstrations problem solving and applications, etc. This paper evaluates the faculty involvement preparing for and teaching and learning in a flipped class, time required, and ways to manage this. The course materials shared can be re-used multiple times, which is found to be the key aspect for success as it can be referred by the students as many times they wish to.
