A New Resource Allocation Approach for Swipt Enabled DF Relay-Based NOMA Network

This paper presents a novel resource allocation approach for Combined Time-Switching and Power-Splitting (CTSPS) energy-harvesting (EH) protocol based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) enabled nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network. The network architecture has a source that transfers multiplexed information signal to both the NOMA users via a DF relay. Minimization of NOMA user's outage probability under total power constraint is recognized as an optimization problem, which gets solved using both Lagrangian multiplier method and invasive-weed-optimization (IWO) algorithm. Further, we have analyzed the outage probability of the proposed resource allocation (PPA) and the fixed allocation (FPA) schemes under the impact of different relay locations, channel conditions, and target rates. The simulation result analysis signifies that the outage performance can be enhanced with the optimal values gained from the PPA over the FPA.
