Is the climate neutrality an illusion?

One of the hottest issues under discussions in the European Union is climate neutrality or carbon neutrality what means the balance between emission of carbon dioxide by the industry and activities of the society and its absorption by green forests. The paper analyses possible ways to reduce the greenhouse gases preserving the security of supply aiming at the continuous delivery of electrical energy to the societies and the economies. The analysis embraces renewable energy sources and possible ways of energy storage in chemical forms and the application of hydrogen in Power-to-Gas (P2G) technologies. The paper is focused on the technical side of the power industry transformation and the efficiency of green power generation, storage and its utilization. The cases studies includes the power supply industry in Germany and Poland, the countries with the largest usage of lignite and hard coal for electric energy generation.
