Analog circuit synthesis by superimposing of sub-circuits

An automated analog circuit synthesis based on searching combinations of sub-circuits is proposed. In general, it is difficult to fabricate an automatically synthesized circuit without any modification, since it has a topology far from well-known structures. Thus moderate topological constraints are introduced by employing 'prototype' circuits, which are given by the user, to provide hints on circuit configuration. In the proposed system, the prototype circuits are automatically decomposed into sub-circuits by the system, then the optimum sets of the sub-circuits are searched by using a genetic algorithm. The set of sub-circuits is combined with a novel technique where the nodes of the sub-circuits are shared. The capabilities of the proposed method are demonstrated through the synthesis of cubing circuits.
