Study on the Control Strategy of Mobile Battery Energy Storage for the Overload Elimination of Distribution Transformer

With the development of economy, the distribution transformer is overloaded in some rural areas of China when the consumers use electricity intensively. Battery energy storage technology is an effective way to solve this issue. In this paper, a mobile battery energy storage system is proposed to eliminate the seasonal short-time overload of distribution transformer in rural areas. The corresponding control strategy which takes the consideration of the battery state of charge and load characteristics is carried out. A simplified time domain simulation model including controllable power load, mobile battery energy storage, distribution transformer and infinite power source is built in MATLAB/Simulink platform. The results of simulation analysis verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
