Technology aided alert system for medical emergencies using WSN

Human body has six vital signs which can be used to determine the physical conditions of the person. A combination of the vital signs is used to determine if a person needs urgent medical attention or not. If any anomaly is detected, an alert message is sent to the pre-registered Hospital. As it allows continuous monitoring of real life time values it has to be interconnected with various objects via the internet. Wireless sensor networks are chosen in favor to have a broad domain in connection. Prolonging the network lifetime and reduction of energy consumption are the two important aspects which must be focused when it comes in the application of wireless sensor network but the significant consternation with wireless sensor network is to have meagre battery power supply. The LEACH protocol is modified in such a way that it significantly enhances the performance with the throughput which is about 65% and also the increase in average residual energy which is determined by the rounds which can be used to increase the lifetime, stability, period, energy and density of node. Also, the addition of the GSM module and GPS module will enable easy integration with android based devices in the future. This device can also be custom made to meet every individual's requirements. This eliminates the time lag that doctors spend trying to get a reading of the vitals.
