FSR Sensor based Embedded system to detect imbalance in Autistic children

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. It impacts the nervous system and affects the overall cognitive, emotional, social and physical health of the affected individual. There is a lack of evidence-based estimate of the population prevalence of ASD in India but according to certain statistics, there is a prevalence of about 0.23% of the total population. Autism causes postural difficulties in patients due to which, it isn't possible for them to balance properly. This is a very serious issue that comes with autism. Not being able to maintain a proper posture and being unable to balance oneself properly makes day-to-day activities extremely difficult. The main aim of the study is to design and develop a portable and easy-to-use pressure mat to detect imbalance in autistic children and To measure the pressure applied by different points under the foot and to analyze the improvement of posture balancing abilities of autistic children. The results suggest that the pressure reference to the autistic patient foot is different from normal and there is no stability in the measurements.
