Performance Evaluation of Delta Networks Operating via Cut-Through Switching under Hotspot Traffic

In this study, semi-layer delta-type networks operating under the cut-through forwarding technique are selected as the test-bed subject for data-rate evaluation when packet arrivals follow hotspot patterns. This specific and promising network is modelled, analysed and simulated. The results demonstrate in a quantitative manner the productivity of the fabric studied, highlighting the benefits of its use of both fan-out and the embedded cut-through mechanism.
