Abstract:
Multihop wireless networks, which consist of sets of battery powered wireless nodes, have been widely spreading in numerous IoT applications. As the nodes typically have limited resources, many energy aware task allocation schemes are conducted to achieve energy efficiency. However, the security concerns should be also considered, due to the vulnerable characteristics of wireless communication. This work addresses the energy and security concerns simultaneously. It proposes an intelligent security aware task allocation algorithm (SATA) based on genetic algorithm, to optimize the energy consumption while fulfilling the security requirements of both the application and the surrounding environment of sensor nodes. The extensive simulation results demonstrate significant improvement in various testing environments.
