Mathematical Analysis of Optical Power of a Bare, Bent and Tapered Multimode Optical Fibre Sensor using 3 Term Sellmeier Equation

This paper presents the mathematical analysis of the variation of a Bare, Tapered and Bent Multi-mode optical fiber (BTBMOF) using 3 term Sellmeier equation. The BTBMOF are used to make Optical Refractrometers. The three term Sellmeier formula is used to relate the core and cladding refractive index of the BTBMOF with the wavelength of the material used for fabricating the fibre. The output power of the BTBMOF is used to relate the wavelength to the refractive index of the medium in which the BTBMOF is immersed.
