Android Interface for Handling ECG Data from GE MAC 600 ECG System

The era of mobile technology opens the windows for an incredible variety of ways to communicate regardless of the distance. Smartphones offer a great selection of features to make life easier for users as well as to make it more comfortable. The features and capabilities of mobile devices are growing every day. Most medical diagnostic laboratories use GE MAC 600 ECG system to generate ECG graphs. Handling of data from the ECG system, analyzing the data, sending it to-and-fro doctors, and generation of reports is done manually. For medical and treatment-related work, such menial intervention is not desirable and results in unnecessary delays that can even cause death in the case of critical patients. This paper provides a two-step solution to speed up the workflow using an Android interface to automate these tasks with Word processing and Portable Document Format (pdf) file editing features and automate email and notification tasks across doctors and substations connected with GE MAC 600 for rapid diagnosis of ECG data.
