A Beam-Steering Water-Loaded Dipole Antenna

In this paper, we propose a beam-steering water-loaded dipole antenna. The dipole antenna works as the driven element and the loaded water bulk plays as the reflector. This antenna has 5 working sates and reaches a beam coverage of 360° in azimuth plane, including one omnidirectional and 4 directional radiation patterns. Simulation results show that the reflection coefficient is below -10 dB from 1.23GHz to 1.46GHz. The maximum antenna gain is 6.7dBi, and the 3dB beam width is 124°.
